Things I need to accomplish before I die... (Joe Inspired Me.)

Okay, so I've done these lists before. But this one came directly from an inspiring blog from my new favorite read -- Joe's blog. He wrote what I presume to be an incomplete list of things he wants to accomplish in his life. Apparently Joe and I both have a lust for lists.

Here's my incomplete list of life goals:

- help make a documentary (contribute to the making of one)
- master a foreign language
- learn to fly a plane
- participate in a protest
- live off a garden I've cultivated on my own
- bury a time capsule, leave behind a treasure map
- ride all the world's biggest roller coasters
- arrange a 48 hour fast among friends, give the money we save to a charity
- complete the 365 days photography project (oh, and make it into a photo journal when it's finished)

athletics
- run in a marathon
- go white water rafting
- sky dive
- ride my bike as mode of transportation for one week

You know, I own a book that has lots of these items listed in it. It's actually called 101 Things to Do Before You Die. It's a solid book, but most of these I thought up on my own. I'm proud of the list, but it's not nearly complete.

For some of these, I could probably use some help. Anyone interested?

I have gone skydiving and would do it again in a heartbeat. We should backpack through Europe with Angela while having catchphrase in our knapsack... it has been my lifelong dream.

Also, I want to watch Wizard of Oz and listen to Dark Side of the Moon.

I don't have the film, but I have the album!

well Laura, I have the film, but not the album. If you ask me, that says girls movie night all over it!

Vania! Brilliant idea for the European backpacking. I'm down. Shit, that's all I'll bring -- catchphrase, no extra clothes or anything, JUST catchphrase.

What did the rug say to the floor?

I'm just going to bust out and say it... I don't have anything to say. So it's list time again. 1. Against Me! I thought about it and thought about it and really... it's not able to be summed up in a blog. I saw them two weekends ago and still have a certain amount of euphoria clouding me. And I'm supremely happy about that. I met new -- and entirely temporary -- friends at that show. A group of guys (and a couple girls) struck up conversation with me at the bar and we spent most of the evening hanging out, sipping beer, and talking about music and the movie Independence Day. It was easily a far better time than I would have had if I hadn't made any friends. 2. I've had a handful of people offer to help me get my foot in the door with TOEFL & international schools. In fact, the sister of my co-worker returned last night from China and she said you don't even need a teaching degree -- just certification with TOEFL. She told her brother -- my co-worker...

Go Relax! (And I have a question for my readers.)

Okay ... maybe I've been under a bit of stress lately. I'll admit, I have a tendency to carry a packed schedule. And for the most part, I can do this quite well. But there are times -- and I think they come in waves -- that I need to gtfo and decompress. This is why you suddenly find out I went to the beach, or was MIA for an entire weekend. It happens. It's been happening for my entire adult life. Those who know me, either embrace it, or get over the fact that I'm not changing. But I have to confess, even for me, the schedule lately has been an overwhelming one. At the end of May I was looking at my calendar and realized from that day through the middle of July, there isn't a single vacant weekend. I wish I were kidding. As much as I love being busy and having parties, volunteering, getting together with friends for coffee, and all of that fun stuff, if I don't get to take a long, retardedly hot shower every few nights and turn my phone off from time to time, ...

This Just In...

One of my favorite members/clients just called for the second time today. He is one of my favorites because he's always polite, asks to talk to me when he needs something he knows is my job to do, and always says he appreciates everything I do here. Earlier he said I sounded tired and that I should catch up on my sleep all weekend, the second time he called, he said I sounded a little better, but I must have partied far too hard. When I told him I actually worked last night, he said, "wow, you work two jobs... dang girl." I've decided I'm taking that as a compliment. This just in : I hung up the phone after taking a message from him and it immediately rang back. When I answered it, it was him AGAIN. This time I laughed when he identified himself and said, "you just want to talk to me, don't you?" His answer was actually yes. When I politely declined, he was all, "oh, I understand. Could I talk to Fred?" When I turned around to look for Fred...
